Company History
LIDS Team Sports was first introduced as Impact Sports in 1990, founded by Tom Handlen. The Company initially started out as a fundraising business and has since developed into a successful full service team sportswear dealer, custom screen printer, embroidery and sporting goods operator which is now LIDS Team Sports.
The Company landed its first major brand, Reebok, in 1996 and quickly became Reebok's number one team dealer in the country. Three years later, the Company acquired Adidas as its second major brand. By 2002, Nike would become its third major brand and within a year would become the sole major brand. Currently one of two Nike strategic partners, LIDS Team Sports is recognized as one of Nike's largest team sportswear dealers in the United States.
LIDS Team Sports has been very involved in the growth of many different associations through sponsorship, which has led to great success through the years. Partnerships include: Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association, Wisconsin Football Coaches Association, Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Iowa Junior College Athletic Conference, Minnesota Football Coaches Association, Arizona Football Coaches Association, National Club Baseball Association and National Football Foundation.
LIDS Team Sports is also very visible at several major conventions throughout the country, including: American Football Coaches Association Convention, National Association of Basketball Coaches Convention, Women's Basketball Coaches Association Convention, American Baseball Coaches Association Convention, Athletic Equipment Managers Association Convention, American Volleyball Coaches Association Convention, National Intramural-Recreation Sports Association Convention, National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Convention and Nike National Clinics.
